Service([executable_path, port, ...])

Service class responsible for starting and stopping the chromedriver executable.

class Service(executable_path=None, port=0, service_args=None, log_output=None, env=None, **kwargs)

Bases: ChromiumService

Service class responsible for starting and stopping the chromedriver executable.

Parameters:

• executable_path (str | None) – Install path of the chromedriver executable, defaults to chromedriver.

• port (int) – Port for the service to run on, defaults to 0 where the operating system will decide.

• service_args (Sequence[str] | None) – (Optional) Sequence of args to be passed to the subprocess when launching the executable.

• log_output (int | str | IO[Any] | None) – (Optional) int representation of STDOUT/DEVNULL, any IO instance or String path to file.

• env (Mapping[str, str] | None) – (Optional) Mapping of environment variables for the new process, defaults to os.environ.

command_line_args()

A List of program arguments (excluding the executable).

Return type:

list[str]

assert_process_still_running()

Check if the underlying process is still running.

Return type:

None

env_path()

Return type:

str | None

is_connectable()

Check if the service is ready via the W3C WebDriver /status endpoint.

This makes an HTTP request to the /status endpoint and verifies if it is ready to accept new sessions.

Returns:

True if the service is ready to accept new sessions, False otherwise.

Return type:

Dispatch an HTTP request to the shutdown endpoint to stop the service.

property service_args: Sequence[str]

Returns the sequence of service arguments.

property service_url: str

Gets the url of the Service.

start()

Starts the Service.

Raises:

WebDriverException – Raised either when it can’t start the service or when it can’t connect to the service

Stops the service.
